Teng-thah (lighthouse) sī chhin-chhiūⁿ thah (tower) hit khoán ê kiàn-tio̍k-bu̍t, i ēng teng, hoé, iah-sī thaù-kiàⁿ (lens) kā kng sàng--chhut-khì, hia̍p-chō͘ chûn-chiah tī hái--nih kiâⁿ, ta̍t kaù tō-hông (navigation) kap léng-hông (pilotage) ê kong-lêng. Chá-kî mā ū tiàm tī soaⁿ téng iah-sī kiā-piah téng tiám hoé ê hong-sek, ká-ná ian-tun (beacon). Hiān-chú-sî tō-hông ki-su̍t chìn-pō͘, thong sè-kài chhun bô kaù 1,500 chō teng-thah u leh ūn-chok. Teng-thah ē-tit piau-sī gûi-hiám ê hái-hoāⁿ, chhián-loā, mā ē-tit piau-sī thàng káng-khaú ê chûn-lō͘.
