Magyar: Sopron vármegye címere körpajzs, melynek mezejében a pajzs jobb oldalán páncélos lovag áll tollas sisakban, derekán övszalaggal, jobb kezével egyenes kardot emel. A lovag bal kezével barokk keretes, ovális pajzsot tart a herceg Esterházy család címerével. A hercegi címer negyedelt, boglárpajzsa kerek talpú.
  • Az első és a negyedik mezőben egy-egy, a címerben egymással szembeforduló, nyitott levélkoronán álló, nyitott levélkoronát viselő griff felemelt jobb, illetve bal lábával szablyát emel, előretartott bal, illetve jobb lábával három rózsát tart.
  • A második és harmadik mező vágott. A felső mezőkben egy-egy, a címerben egymással szembeforduló, növekvő, egyfarkú aranyoroszlán látható, fején nyitott levélkoronával, felemelt bal, illetve jobb mellső lábával három rózsát tart.
  • A második és harmadik mezők alsó mezejében három-három heraldikai rózsa lebeg.
  • A boglárpajzs mezejében L betű – I. Lipót nevének kezdőbetűje – lebeg. A boglárpajzson és az ovális pajzson is hermelinnel díszített, zárt hercegi korona nyugszik.

Official coat of arms and flags, being defined in such a regulation, are thus in the public domain in Hungary, and also in the US, according to § 313.6(C)(2) Compendium of U.S. Copyright Office Practices, 3rd ed. 2014 (Compendium (Third)): "As a matter of longstanding public policy, the U.S. Copyright Office will not register a government edict that has been issued by any state, local, or territorial government, including legislative enactments, judicial decisions, administrative rulings, public ordinances, or similar types of official legal materials. Likewise, the Office will not register a government edict issued by any foreign government or any translation prepared by a government employee acting within the course of his or her official duties."
