Tōng-bu̍t ê naú ia̍h naú-chhé (Eng-gí: brain) sī kí tiong-chhu sîn-keng hē-thóng (central nervous system) ê khòng-chè tiong-sim. Toā-hūn tōng-bu̍t ê naú tiàm tī thaû--nih, hō͘ thaû-khak-oáⁿ (skull) pó-hō͘ tiâu, kap chú-iàu ê ti-kak khì-koan chin sio-oá, chhiūⁿ kóng sī-kak (vision), thèng-kak (hearing), bī-kak (taste), kap hiù-kak (olfaction). Jîn-lūi ê naú sī hū-chek su-khó (thought) ê khì-koan. Choân-pō͘ ê chek-chui tōng-bu̍t lóng ū naú, ah nā bô-chek-chui tōng-bu̍t (invertebrate) ū-ê ū chi̍p-tiong ê naú, ū-ê sī ū chin chē sîn-keng-chat (ganglion). Naú ē-tit chin ho̍k-cha̍p, pí-lūn kóng jîn-lūi ê naú ū chhiau-koè 1000 ek ê sîn-keng-goân (neuron), ta̍k ê sîn-keng-goân koh kap lēng-goā kúi-nā chheng ê chiap chò-hoé.
