Hêng-chheⁿ[1] (eng. star; ji̍t. 恒星) ia̍h hêng-chhiⁿ, it-poaⁿ kán-tan kóng chheⁿ ia̍h chhiⁿ, sī 1 chióng ēng hu̍t-chú iông-ha̍p lâi sán-seng lêng-liōng, chit-liōng chin tōa, tiān-chiuⁿ cho͘-sêng ê chhiⁿ-thé. Lī Tē-kiû siāng kīn ê chheⁿ tō sī Ji̍t-thaû. He̍k-chheⁿ ê kng lóng sī hoán-siā chheⁿ hoat--chhut-lâi ê kng. Chheⁿ pún-sin ē thaù-kòe o͘-thé (black body) hok-siā ê chok-iōng lâi hoat-kng.

Choan-bûn iōng-gí hō in hêng-chhiⁿ, chiàu-jī ê ì-sù sī piáu-sī chit khoán chhiⁿ éng-kiú bē piàn-tōng, chóng--sī lán chit-má chai-iáⁿ ē ū sin ê chhiⁿ lâi sán-seng, chhiⁿ sio kàu bóe-á mā ē bia̍t-bông.
