Tiong-kok tāi-lio̍k (Hàn-jī: 中國大陸), tī Tâi-oân iā kiò choè Tn̂g-soaⁿ (Hàn-jī: 唐山, mā ū lâng siá-chò 長山), chí Hiong-káng kap Ò-mn̂g í-gōa Tiong-kok/Tiong-hôa Jîn-bîn Kiōng-hô-kok si̍t-chāi thóng-tī ê kî-thaⁿ tē-khu, mā bô pau-hâm Tâi-oân, Phêⁿ-ô͘, Kim-mn̂g, kap Má-chó͘. Tn̂g-soaⁿ sī ùi Tiong-kok chhian-sóa kàu kî-thaⁿ kok-ka ê kiâu-bîn hām in ê kiáⁿ-sun kòan-sì ēng lâi kiò Tiong-kok ê thé-hō. Chit-ê thé-hō tī Tâi-ôan kap Tang-lâm-a siōng-chia̍p thiaⁿ-tio̍h.

Tông-tiâu (唐朝) sī Tiong-kok le̍k-sú-siōng ê chi̍t ê chiâⁿ kiông chiâⁿ lè-táu ê tiâu-tāi. Só͘-í āu--lâi tiāⁿ-tiāⁿ kap “Hàn (漢)” chò-hóe hō͘ lâng the̍h lâi tòng-chò Tiong-kok ê thé-hō.

“Tn̂g” kî-si̍t tō sī “唐” chit-ê Hàn-jī ê Ho̍h-ló pe̍h-ōe-im, kau-ki-liân ê sû koh ū “Tn̂g-lâng (唐人)”, “Tn̂g-jī (唐字)”, “Tn̂g-ōe Hàn-jī (唐話漢字)” téng-téng.

Soaⁿ (山)” tī chit-ê sû lāi-té pēng m̄-sī “soaⁿ-thâu”, “soaⁿ-lūn” ê ì-sù. Ho̍h-ló pō͘-pêng mā ēng “soaⁿ” lâi kóng “lio̍k-tē” he̍k-chiá sī “só͘-chāi”, pí-lūn-kóng “khí-soaⁿ / chiūⁿ-soaⁿ” sī ùi hái--ni̍h khí-lih lio̍k-tē, “gōa-thâu-soaⁿ” sī kóng kò͘-hiong í-gōa ê só͘-chāi.

“Tn̂g-soaⁿ” chit-ê ho͘-im tō chhin-chhiūⁿ thâu-chêng só͘ kóng--ê, sī “唐山” chit nn̄g ê Hàn-jī ê Ho̍h-ló pe̍h-ōe-im. In-ūi “tn̂g” chit-ê pe̍h-ōe-im sù-siông khah bô teh kóng, tì-sú ū lâng gō͘-hōe, kā “Tn̂g-soaⁿ” ê Hàn-jī siá-chò “長山”, sīm-chì soah éng-hióng tio̍h Hak-fa. Hak-fa khip-siu chit-ê Ho̍h-ló sû ê sî, ho͘-im chőaⁿ cho̍ah tùi “長山” khì.
